Description
The Seiko Presage Style60's SSA425J1 draws on the collection's 1960s-inspired design language, pairing a 4R39 automatic movement with a 40.8mm round case, a black dial with an open heart aperture, and a stainless steel bracelet.
Case & crystal
The round case is stainless steel and measures 40.8mm across, with a thickness of 12.8mm. The bracelet is also stainless steel, so case and band match. A Hardlex crystal protects the dial. A black rotating bezel carries rose-gold-tone minute numerals and markers, which add a warm accent against the black of the dial.
Dial
The black dial carries applied hour markers, with lume on the hands and markers for low-light reading. A 24-hour subdial sits at 12 o'clock, while an open heart aperture at 7 o'clock exposes part of the movement beneath the dial.
Movement
Inside is Seiko's automatic calibre 4R39, wound by the motion of the wrist. It provides a power reserve of 41 hours, so the watch keeps running over a typical weekend off the wrist. The open heart complication lets you watch the balance at work.
Bracelet & fit

Care guide
- Wipe the stainless steel case and bracelet with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry them thoroughly.
- Keep the watch away from soaking and swimming: the 50 metre water resistance suits splashes and rain only.
- If the watch has stopped after sitting unworn beyond its 41-hour power reserve, wind it by gently rocking it or wearing it, then reset the time.
- Avoid knocks to the Hardlex crystal and the open heart aperture area.
