Description
The Seiko SRPH87K1 is an automatic 41mm watch with a blue sunburst dial, powered by the 4R35 calibre and fitted to a stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp.
Case & crystal
The round 41mm case is stainless steel, and the bracelet is stainless steel too, so case and band match in the hand. The dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal, Seiko's hardened mineral glass, which is built to cope with the knocks of daily wear.
Dial
The blue dial has a sunburst finish, so the colour shifts from deep navy to brighter blue as the light moves across it. Applied hour markers add depth and a crisp edge, and a date window sits at 3 o'clock.
Movement
Inside is the automatic 4R35 calibre, wound by the motion of your wrist. It holds a 41-hour power reserve, so the watch keeps running after a day or two off the wrist. The date complication is the only function, which keeps the dial clean and easy to read.
Bracelet & fit

Warranty
Supplied with the 3-year international Seiko warranty, valid when purchased from an authorised retailer and registered at purchase through Cassims & Co. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship; it does not cover normal wear, batteries, straps, glass, or damage from misuse or water ingress through an unscrewed crown.
Our watch service centre in Johannesburg handles warranty work, batteries, bracelet sizing and servicing.
Care guide
- Wind the 4R35 automatic movement by wearing it daily. If it has stopped, give it a few gentle shakes or wind the crown before setting the time.
- Keep the crown pushed in whenever the watch is near water to maintain the 100m water resistance.
- Rinse the stainless steel case and bracelet with fresh water after contact with salt water or chlorine, then dry with a soft cloth.
- Clean the bracelet links and clasp gently with a soft brush and mild soapy water to clear away dirt.
- Avoid changing the date between roughly 9pm and 3am, when the date mechanism is engaged.
- Have the watch serviced periodically by a qualified watchmaker to keep the movement and seals in good order.
