Description
The Chester collection is Police's larger-format, sport-leaning line, and the PEWGF0040140 is a clear example: a 45mm round quartz watch with a blue dial, three sub-dials and a leather strap, part of our range of Police watches.
Case & crystal
The round case is made of two-tone stainless steel and measures 45mm across, topped by a gold-tone bezel carrying a minute scale. The crystal is mineral, a hardened glass that suits daily wear when treated with sensible care. The case is steel while the band is leather, so the watch pairs a metal frame with a softer strap.
Dial
The blue dial carries a horizontal linear texture that catches the light in fine bands. Applied gold-tone indices sit alongside an oversized 12 numeral, and the hands are luminous for reading in low light. Three sub-dials share the layout: a small seconds sub-dial, a 24-hour dual time sub-dial and a printed DUAL TIME marking that identifies the second time zone.
Movement
Inside is a quartz movement, which keeps time through an electronic oscillator rather than a mainspring. It drives the small seconds and the dual time complication, so you can follow a second time zone on the 24-hour sub-dial while the main hands show local time.
Bracelet & fit
The watch is fitted to a leather strap and closes with a stainless steel tang buckle, the traditional pin-and-hole arrangement that allows fine adjustment of fit. Leather softens and conforms to the wrist with wear.
On the wrist
At 45mm this is a case with strong wrist presence, best suited to medium and larger wrists and to those who prefer a bold, substantial watch. The gold-tone bezel and blue dial give it a smart-casual character that works with everyday wear and relaxed business dress, and it is cut for men.
Water resistance
The watch is rated to 50 metres. In plain terms, that covers splashes and rain, and it should not be worn swimming, showering or diving. Warranty
Supplied with the 2-year international Police warranty, valid when purchased from an authorised retailer and registered at purchase through Cassims & Co. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship; it does not cover normal wear, batteries, straps, glass, or damage from misuse or water ingress through an unscrewed crown.
Our watch service centre in Johannesburg handles warranty work, batteries, bracelet sizing and servicing.
Care guide
- Wipe the two-tone stainless steel case and gold-tone bezel with a soft, dry microfibre cloth after wearing.
- Keep the leather strap away from water, perfume and sweat build-up, and let it dry naturally if it gets damp.
- With 50 metres of water resistance, avoid swimming, showering and diving.
- Protect the mineral crystal from knocks and abrasive surfaces.
- Have the quartz battery replaced by a watch specialist, and ask for a seal check at the same time.
