Description
The Michel Herbelin Newport Slim Moonphase (12722/B25) pairs a Ronda 706.1 quartz movement with a 41.5mm round case, a blue sunray dial and a stainless steel bracelet.
Case & crystal
The round case is stainless steel and measures 41.5mm across, with a case thickness of just 6.95mm. The bracelet is also stainless steel, so case and band match. A sapphire crystal covers the dial, giving high resistance to scratching.
Dial
The blue dial carries a sunray finish, so the colour shifts from deep navy to a brighter blue as the light moves across it. Applied stick indices mark the hours, and silver-toned sub-dials contrast with the blue ground. The complications are a date and a moonphase.
Movement
Inside is the Ronda 706.1, a quartz calibre. Quartz timekeeping is valued for steady accuracy and for needing no daily winding, and it drives both the date and the moonphase display on this dial. When the battery eventually needs replacing, our watch servicing and repairs team can attend to it.
Bracelet & fit
The stainless steel bracelet closes with a deployment clasp. This keeps the bracelet secure and lets you open it fully to slip the watch on and off without stretching the links.

Supplied with the 2-year international Michel Herbelin warranty, valid when purchased from an authorised retailer and registered at purchase through Cassims & Co. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship; it does not cover normal wear, batteries, straps, glass, or damage from misuse or water ingress through an unscrewed crown.
Our watch service centre in Johannesburg handles warranty work, batteries, bracelet sizing and servicing.
Care guide
- Wipe the stainless steel case and bracelet with a soft, lint-free cloth after wear to remove skin oils and dust.
- Keep the watch away from swimming pools, showers and the sea: water resistance is 30 metres, which covers splashes and rain only.
- Rinse and dry the bracelet if it is exposed to sweat or rain, paying attention to the links around the deployment clasp.
- The sapphire crystal resists scratching, but avoid hard knocks against door frames and worktops that can still mark the case.
- Have the quartz movement checked and the battery replaced by a qualified watchmaker when the watch slows, stops or the moonphase falls out of step.
