Description

The Ingersoll Scovill Automatic I13902 is a 43 mm round automatic watch with a skeleton dial, stainless steel case and leather strap.

Case & crystal

The 43 mm round stainless steel case measures 14.6 mm thick and features a coin-edge bezel that adds tactile detail to the profile. A mineral crystal protects the dial, while the case is rated to 100 metres water resistance. The leather strap fastens with a pin buckle clasp.

Dial

The skeleton dial reveals the automatic movement beneath, offering a view of the gears and balance wheel at work. Luminous hands and luminous hour markers ensure legibility in low light, balancing the open architecture with practical function.

Movement

An automatic movement powers the watch, winding itself through the motion of the wearer's wrist. The skeleton dial design places the mechanical calibre on display, making the interplay of springs, wheels and escapement visible from the front. No battery is required; regular wear keeps the movement running.

Bracelet & fit

The leather strap contrasts with the stainless steel case, offering a softer feel on the wrist. The pin buckle allows for incremental adjustment to suit a range of wrist sizes.

On the wrist

At 43 mm in diameter and 14.6 mm thick, the case sits prominently on the wrist and suits medium to larger wrist sizes. The skeleton dial and coin-edge bezel give the watch a mechanical, industrial character that works for everyday wear and casual occasions. The leather strap and exposed movement lean toward relaxed, weekend styling rather than formal or business contexts.

Water resistance

The 100-metre water resistance rating covers handwashing, rain and brief immersion, but the watch is not intended for swimming or water sports.

FAQ
How does an automatic movement work?

An automatic movement winds itself using a rotor that spins as you move your wrist throughout the day. Regular wear keeps the watch running; if left unworn for a day or two, the movement will stop and will need to be wound manually or worn again to restart.

What does the skeleton dial reveal?

The skeleton dial exposes the automatic movement beneath, allowing you to see the gears, balance wheel and escapement in motion. This open design showcases the mechanical engineering of the watch while the luminous hands and hour markers maintain legibility.

Can I swim with this watch?

The 100-metre water resistance rating covers handwashing, rain and brief immersion, but the watch is not designed for swimming, diving or water sports. Avoid operating the crown or buckle when the watch is wet.

How do I care for the leather strap?

Keep the leather strap dry and avoid prolonged exposure to water, sweat or direct sunlight, which can cause discolouration and stiffening. Wipe the strap with a soft, dry cloth after wear and allow it to air out between uses.

How often should I service an automatic watch?

Automatic movements benefit from servicing every three to five years to clean, lubricate and regulate the calibre. Our team can arrange servicing to keep the movement running accurately and extend the life of the watch.

What wrist size does this watch suit?

The 43 mm case diameter and 14.6 mm thickness suit medium to larger wrist sizes. The leather strap with pin buckle allows for incremental adjustment, and our showroom team can help you find the right fit.

Warranty

Supplied with the 2-year international Ingersoll warranty, valid when purchased from an authorised retailer and registered at purchase through Cassims & Co. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship; it does not cover normal wear, batteries, straps, glass, or damage from misuse or water ingress through an unscrewed crown.

Our watch service centre in Johannesburg handles warranty work, batteries, bracelet sizing and servicing.

Care guide

  • Wind the watch manually or wear it regularly to keep the automatic movement running; if the watch stops, wind the crown gently or wear it to restart the rotor.

  • Wipe the stainless steel case with a soft, dry cloth after wear to remove fingerprints, dust and moisture; avoid abrasive cleaners that may scratch the mineral crystal or case.

  • Keep the leather strap dry and away from water, sweat and direct sunlight; allow the strap to air out between wears and wipe it with a dry cloth to prevent stiffening or discolouration.

  • Avoid exposing the watch to strong magnetic fields, which can affect the accuracy of the automatic movement; keep it away from speakers, laptops and magnetic clasps.

  • Do not operate the crown or buckle when the watch is wet, and ensure the crown is pushed in fully to maintain the 100-metre water resistance rating.

  • Have the movement serviced every three to five years to clean, lubricate and regulate the calibre, preserving accuracy and longevity.
