Description
The X Series Gorilla from CIGA Design watches pairs the house's CIGA CD-01 automatic calibre with a 44mm square case, a skeleton dial and a silicone strap, under reference X011-BB01-25BK.
Case & crystal
The square case is Black IP Stainless Steel, measuring 44mm across and 12mm thick. A sapphire crystal sits over the dial, and an exhibition case back opens the movement to view from the reverse. The silicone strap differs from the case in material, which keeps the black case the focus.
Dial
The dial is skeletonised, with X-shaped bridge architecture forming the visual structure of the face. Rather than a solid plate, you read the movement itself, held in place by a 4-corner suspension system.
Movement
Inside is the automatic CIGA CD-01 calibre, wound by the motion of the wrist, with a 40-hour power reserve. Left off the wrist for longer than that, it will need to be set and wound again on wearing. Periodic attention from a specialist helps preserve accuracy over the years, and we offer watch servicing and repairs for mechanical pieces.
Bracelet & fit
The silicone strap is lighter and more flexible than a metal bracelet, and it is unaffected by the dampness of a warm day. It suits the sporting character of the square 44mm case.

Warranty
Supplied with the 2-year CIGA Design warranty, valid when purchased from an authorised retailer and registered at purchase through Cassims & Co. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship; it does not cover normal wear, batteries, straps, glass, or damage from misuse or water ingress through an unscrewed crown.
Our watch service centre in Johannesburg handles warranty work, batteries, bracelet sizing and servicing.
Care guide
- Wear the watch regularly or set and wind it by hand if it has stopped, as the 40-hour power reserve runs down when it is not worn.
- Keep it away from swimming, showers and saunas: 30 metres water resistance covers splashes and light rain only.
- Wipe the Black IP Stainless Steel case with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners that could mark the black finish.
- Rinse the silicone strap with mild soapy water, then dry it fully before wearing.
