Description
The Casio MTS-120D-2AVDF is a quartz watch with a 39 mm round stainless steel case, a blue dial with gold-tone baton indices and a stainless steel bracelet, built around a battery-driven movement that keeps time without winding or daily adjustment.
Case & crystal
The round case is stainless steel, finished with a stainless steel bezel, and measures 39 mm across and 8.3 mm thick. The bracelet is also stainless steel, so case, bezel and band share one material. Over the dial sits a sapphire crystal, which resists scratching from everyday knocks and is flagged by the Sapphire label printed on the dial itself.
Dial
The blue dial carries gold-tone baton indices and gold-tone hour and minute hands, which stand out clearly against the blue ground. A minute track runs around the periphery for precise reading, and the dial also bears the WR 50M marking alongside the Sapphire label. Movement
Inside is a quartz movement. A quartz oscillator regulates the timekeeping, which suits a watch meant to be worn day after day without winding. Warranty
Supplied with the 1-year international Casio warranty, valid when purchased from an authorised retailer and registered at purchase through Cassims & Co. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship; it does not cover normal wear, batteries, straps, glass, or damage from misuse or water ingress through an unscrewed crown.
Our watch service centre in Johannesburg handles warranty work, batteries, bracelet sizing and servicing.
Care guide
- Wipe the stainless steel case and bracelet with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry them to keep the finish clean.
- The watch is water resistant to 50 metres: rinse it in fresh water after exposure to salt or chlorine and dry it before wearing again.
- Keep the sapphire crystal clean with a microfibre cloth; avoid harsh abrasives that could mark the surrounding steel.
- Because the movement is quartz, the battery will eventually need replacing; have this done by a qualified watch technician so the seals are checked.
- Close the one-touch 3-fold clasp fully and check it is secure before releasing the wrist.
- Store the watch away from strong magnets and extreme heat when it is not being worn.
