Description
This 9ct yellow gold engagement ring is a classic solitaire, set with a 1.00ct oval lab-grown diamond in a 4-claw head.
The stone
The centre stone is a 1.00ct oval lab-grown diamond graded VS clarity, and it is the only stone in the ring, so total carat weight is also 1.00ct. The elongated oval gives generous finger coverage for its weight, and the stone is set east-west, running across the finger rather than along it. Setting & band
Four claws with rounded tips hold the oval, keeping the head open so light reaches the crown and pavilion of the stone. An open gallery with an under-rail sits beneath it. Cathedral shoulders rise from the slim, polished band to the head, and the court profile is rounded on the inside for a smooth feel on the finger.
The metal
The whole ring, band and claws included, is 9ct yellow gold with a polished finish. Because the head and shank are one continuous colour, the solitaire reads as a single clean line from shoulder to claw tip.
Who it suits
As a bridal solitaire, it is made for an engagement, and it is listed as unisex. The slim court band and cathedral shoulders leave the shank uncluttered, so a plain wedding band can sit alongside it for stacking, with the rising shoulders giving the head some room. Warranty
There is no formal manufacturer warranty on jewellery, but Cassims & Co. guarantees its workmanship: if a manufacturing defect or craftsmanship issue appears, we will repair or replace the piece at no charge. Normal wear, accidental damage, lost stones from knocks, and alterations by third parties are not covered.
Professional cleaning, inspection, claw checks and resizing are available at either showroom.
Care guide
- Clean the 9ct yellow gold and the diamond with warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush, then dry with a lint-free cloth.
- Brush gently under the stone and around the open gallery, where dust and hand cream collect.
- Have the four claws checked regularly, as they hold the 1.00ct oval and can loosen with knocks.
- Take the ring off for heavy work, gym sessions and cleaning with bleach or other strong chemicals.
- Store it on its own in a soft pouch so the polished band is not scratched by other pieces.
