Description
This 9ct white gold engagement ring carries 1.19ct total weight of lab-grown diamond, an oval centre stone inside a pavé halo, held in a 4-claw setting on a slim polished shank.
The stone
Look closely at the centre stone and you will notice its long east-west elongation: the oval sits across the finger rather than along it, which broadens the face of the ring. It is a lab-grown diamond graded G colour and VVS2 clarity, and the grading applies to the centre stone. The ring comes with an IGI certificate. Around it, the halo is made up of fine bead-set lab-grown diamonds totalling 0.16ct, which add scintillation at the edge of the stone and frame its outline. Setting & band
Four round claws hold the centre stone, leaving the table and crown open to the light. The gallery profile is clean and open, and the shoulders are plain, so attention stays on the oval and its halo. The shank is slim with a court profile and a polished finish, which sits smoothly against the skin.
The metal
The ring is made in 9ct white gold throughout, including the claws, the halo setting and the band, so the metal reads as one continuous, bright tone against the white stones. Nine carat gold is a hard-wearing alloy, which suits a ring worn daily.
Who it suits
As an engagement ring for women, it works for a proposal that favours a longer, more elongated stone with a halo for added presence. The slim court-profile shank leaves room to stack a plain wedding band beside it later on. - Clean with lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush, paying attention to the underside of the halo where dust gathers.
- Rinse well and pat dry with a lint-free cloth to keep the polished 9ct white gold bright.
